Where did this world come from?
"Minecraft Playstation Edition" is a game developed by Mojang Studios in the Year 1998 in a partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment for the Playstation Console released in 1994, this game was a pre-cursor to the classic 'Minecraft' of 2009, although not many people are aware of it due to it being pulled from store shelves just a year after release with only a 1000 or so copies ever being sold, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a copy at a retro game store about a month ago, here's my experience with the title.

02/05/2024 @spaceyacey7062: So to me, this build plus the date of 09/26/1977, that kind of makes me think this house is a specific recreation of events from that day. Like a developer or previous owner of the game was reliving specific events of a day that was important to them while building that house. The details in the build are so specific - like you pointed out, the three cookies that are missing from the neat lineup in the kitchen. The specific outfits missing from the wardrobes. It feels like a memory. Whose and of what, I really can't say.
02/05/2024 @vincentinks8765: the number of cookies set aside lead me to think it is a small indicator of the number of people in the household. This absolutely seems like a build that's a recreation of someone's home, memories.
I find the date odd because of the release date of the game itself so perhaps the date also captures a personal time period for whoever built it. but this map definitely screams minimap puzzle to me, despite there being seemingly no evidence of secret passages or command blocks, hmm.

If it has anything to do with Notch when he was younger, then the bathroom has very creepy implications, the fact there are clothes on the ground, and that there is a poison bottle in the bathtub, it may be related to Notch's father's **self killing** which is oddly specific but it makes a lot more sense
02/05/2024 @shibainu2528: Probably isn't a good method, but we should count the colored boots next to the beds. Since even though my family keeps the shoes next to the door, I'd imagine there is at least 1 person for each pair of colored boots representing shoes (Unlike the white ones in the cabinet representing socks)
I feel like the bathtub being filled, alongside armor pieces being on the ground, means that someone was taking a bath during the incident that took place. Assuming the worst of course, similar to Doom's "MyHouse" map.
Since the car is still in the driveway, that either means that A) They took a different car, or B) Never made it out of the house, again, assuming the worst case scenario of a kidnapper or something.
I wonder if there is anything on the roof, or hidden somewhere on the map like under a lone flower outside, maybe you can take the scaffolding from the table and use that to climb up. Plus, the horse outside seemed out of place since there were no other mobs outside, plus I'd assume whenever someone creates a new creative world, they choose superflat, meaning tons of slimes would appear although that wouldn't make a basement possible.

I will provide some of my thoughts here, this world could very well be either the house of one of the original developers of this version of Minecraft from mojang, or either the house of the previous owner of this copy of the game, it still begs the question of why this house map is even in the game, as og PlayStation discs do not save directly on the disk itself, they do on memory cards, you didn’t by any chance get a memory card with the discs, right? Maybe this world is just hardcoded on the game’s data for some bizarre reason, I don’t really know, but it is strange you are seeing it only now…
PS: There is definitely some secret entrance to a hidden room or passage on the house, either behind some furniture, behind some painting, or even behind some mechanism that needs maybe solving a puzzle, I would recommend saving a backup of the map and continue exploring further, maybe there is more secrets to find.
I don’t know really what is going on with this game, but it is a possibility that it is trying to tell you something, even if it sounds crazy as hell. All I know is that there is something wrong with the game, I dunno what they did later on with the newer versions of Minecraft, but they definitely did something that either patched / removed / fixed whatever was wrong with this version. Well I think I rambled on way to long, I am speculating a lot on the matter, XD. Wish you the best of luck on this journey, I am sure as hell that I am sticking along to see what happens!

02/05/2024 @rocky_roadster: I have 2 big questions about the connection between the house and mechanics of the game.
1. Are those vertical stone slabs going around the bottom of the house? There's seem to also be vertical wooden slabs in the kitchen going along the counter. The casing of the "computer" inside one of the bedrooms is made of 3 carpet, with the 2 on the sides being vertical.
2. Are commands a thing in this version?
The fact that the world is set to Adventure Mode, when the house itself was most likely built in Creative, implies that it was changed after the world was created. Something that can only be done through commands.
The items on the walls and floor could only be done with commands, as far as I can remember anyways, since placing things, like the "clothes" and the cookies, on the ground or wall would normally require item frames.
