Minecraft PSX - RAW ARCHIVE FOOTAGE [1] - 10-01-24

My girlfriend recently decided to join the Archival effort by recording her experience of the game running on the ePSXe - Enhanced PSX Emulator, oddly enough the only PSX Emulator that can run Minecraft PSX Here are her experiences. "Minecraft Playstation Edition" is a game developed by Mojang Studios in the Year 1998 in a partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment for the Playstation Console released in 1994, this game was a pre-cursor to the classic 'Minecraft' of 2009, although not many people are aware of it due to it being pulled from store shelves just a year after release with only a 1000 or so copies ever being sold, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a copy at a retro game store about a month ago, here's my experience with the title. • 02/05/2024 @sakamocat: i will get a bit 🤓☝️here but let's consider that a chunk is 16x16 with 16 blocks tall: 16 x 16 x 16 = 4.096 (4KB of memory) now let's use the amount you given 4.096 x 10 = 40.960 (40KB of memory) but now lets consider that a vertice takes ~23 bytes... 40.960 x 23 = 942.080 (0,91MB) ... and since a cube has 8 vertices... 942.080 x 8 = 7.536.640 (7,5MB) the N64 supports only 8MB of memory with the extension pak... which is not a small size for memory but i don't think we need more information to know that this would be way too much information for the poor N64 to store... maybe if we rendered a very, VERY little amount of blocks with a massive amount of fog and scrap off block textures it could work as fine

• 02/05/2024 @Jtak-qu5hk:  @that-nerdy-kid111  what they're saying is that all versions of minecraft have the problem where you can't render that many vertices. if minecraft was a flat plane where you could not add or remove any blocks, you would be able to render it on an n64. the more corners you add to the shapes you're making makes it tougher and tougher on the n64.

My dad used to have a brother working at.. microsoft or something, apparently they had a secret underground prototype base type of thingy, they were developing various games like this. The brother lend him a copy of minecraft because he thought it would never get out of this type of thing anyway. I'm not actually sure about the story just take this as words for now. BUUUT, i managed to find a weird.. disc, it just said "MINECRAFT PROTOTYPE" written on it, with a marker and nothing as a portrait, just your plain average cd.. didn't even look like a ps1. I don't have a ps1 currently, but maybe i'll use my brother's pc to emulate the game via disc thing, since i have a laptop, but i'm not sure if it will work.

No mining the perfect amount of cobble for things, no house on the first night when you can just hunt sheep and make a bed. Were it not for all the weirdness and mystery structures, this would be some pretty typical experienced player gameplay.

I remember seeing a pyramid meme where the right side up way is "Date/Month/Year" or something, and the upside down way is "Year/Month/Date" Whilst us Americans use the crazy pyramid of "Month/Date/Year" So in other words, the video is from the 10th of January, 2024. While for my location, it's January 10th, 2024.
