Today marks one year since The Minecraft PSX Archive started. As we move into the new year expect more documentation. Appreciate the patience, life’s been a bit more busy lately but I’m excited to get back to documenting this lost version of Minecraft and maybe we can finally get to the bottom of it all.

so upon checking today I believe I've uploaded the entire MCPSX soundtrack so I guess theres gonna be no more OST uploads until we arrive to the end dimension (Or if other undescovered song versions are found and im notified) - Alex

PS: is there no music discs in this version? Those might contain some differences as well if they exist here, who knows.

Small Update, We received a new email from our good old Swedish pal Arvo, the very same person who sent me those images of the PAL version of the game a while back now, so I'll go over that new email in the next doc 👀 -Alex

There is certainly interesting stuff, and even more interesting is how the tracks have changed in overall instrumentation and some of them even in melody compared to modern Minecraft! There is also the fact that they sound beautifully eerie, perfectly fitting seeing what feelings this Minecraft version evokes (at least on me) each exploration day!

@fisherninjajk7261: The one thing I think is worth loading possibly is the fact that the entity that attacks in the normal world doesn’t appear whatsoever in these worlds.

So I've kinda been in and out of sleep for the last day and a half and I woke up to my Ps1 being on the boot menu and the disc tray open this morning which is weird because I know for a fact I shut it off after recording last. weird.

@s0n1cd3v: Definitely weird, as some comments already stated, there is a possibility that paranormal stuff might be happening here and there when nobody is paying attention, just like in some of the exploration documentaries posted so far, but maybe it has some explanation, like older hardware, worn console hinges or just the fact that the disc moving and being read makes the console wobble a bit. I have also been wondering, that maybe more things would happen if the game was played on the PS2 instead of on the PS1, as that console has more processing power, and the PSX’s hardware is just somewhat containing a bit the game,but I dunno, I am just speculating here. PS: Also from what I have seen, in the raw emulator playtroughs, it seems the experience there is a little bit more tame compared to the actual hardware playthroughs, but that could just be that the file is newer and the weird stuff takes some time to manifest strongly ingame, who knows. Anyways, great work on your explorations, just make sure to sleep and take rests properly!

been struggling to sleep a lot more lately and when I do I wake up still feeling drained, hoping you guys are enjoying the documentation and archival efforts though, they remain my main goal still, we need to document this game as much as possible

@s0n1cd3v: Dude, we are excited for and enjoying exploration episodes, but you don’t really need to tire yourself out this bad for it, we can wait longer, just make sure to take as much breaks as you need and be sure to keep yourself healthy!

@clustabite7614: I have 2 thoughts on this channel,. 1- It’s pretty obviously an arg, everyone should pretty much realise this the moment you see the gameplay in the first video, unless people simply weren’t paying attention. (Aside from the few Minecraft kiddies on YouTube freaking out and ruining the arg for everyone not really much you can’t do about that I’m afraid) Now secondly. And bare with me this is alot. (And is importantly just my opinion not fact) All due respect (and I mean it, I enjoy this arg so far). This isn’t the most stable arg that I’ve seen, I mean, the special effects are great, the vibe is captured pretty well, and I’ve subscribed because I’m very interested on seeing where it leads, however the “mysteries” of this arg aren’t very fool proof, especially considering how all it takes is a quick google search to figure out the ins and outs of said “mysteries” In the gameplay videos, you do a lot of telling and not enough showing imo, and I can think of a few moments as to where you do this, regarding the tunnel at the beginning, leaving that almost completely unmentioned and not bringing too much attention to it while still showing it in the video would’ve done WONDERS for the feel that the videos give off, as it would already make the viewer have a “holy crap Lois look at that he didn’t notice it but I did” moment which really helps with getting people immersed, also idk if having the main antagonist being herobrine works (atleast that’s who I assume is the protagonist regarding what I’ve seen), because by now the nostalgia effect of herobrine has worn off due to not really being a mystery anymore and once compared to tons of modern arg horror stuff herobrine looks like a man with a knife… next to a muscly brute twice his size with a chainsaw made of blood and bones. I also have to add that some of the best args are confusing asf while still retaining some realism or deniability, take for example the interloper (a bit of a generic reference I know). Tons of people believed it was completely real since it broke the confines of Garry’s mod to the point where it wasn’t explainable as to how it could happen, ofc the creators have gone out and made sure people knew it was fake, but still it felt like the interloper could’ve been a real thing due to no evidence saying otherwise, which is what I’m getting at here, there’s wayyyyyy too much evidence that blows many holes into this arg (the anonymous guy sending you different videos is worrying too, why is he anonymous? Why’s he interested in you? how’d he get in contact? If the answer to these questions are “idk he’s just anonymous so I’ll accept it” then it looks like you still have more writing to do regarding the story) however I believe that despite all that. You seem to be on the right track to making a genuinely good arg with a lot of smart ideas behind it, one good thing I really liked was that in the trailer for a split second in the cave part you see that Steve’s eyes are almost glowing white but can’t tell because of the capped resolution, a really good example of show not tell imo Please don’t see this as hate (and if I worded it like hate then I apologise as I didn’t meant too), I do enjoy this arg so far. just listing things that you could utilise to make the experience more immersive and more stable imo

@s0n1cd3v: Knowing how this goes I would assume herobrine is not the only “antagonist” we are going to find on this “exploration” series, it is just one of the bizarre things in this version of Minecraft, although you do make good points, let’s see how the story develops further on, take in mind this is a new story in proces of being developed, knowing how big minecraft is a playtrough on it regardless of version ought to be long. I am just here to see how this goes, as well as having provided my sub as well because this is a very interesting story so far and I am really invested in seeing how it goes on. But the fun is in playing along and seeing how it develops. Not spreading hate either, just trying to be constructive and respond to the comment as respectfully I can.
