"Minecraft Playstation Edition" is a game developed by Mojang Studios in the Year 1998 in a partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment for the Playstation Console released in 1994, this game was a pre-cursor to the classic 'Minecraft' of 2009, although not many people are aware of it due to it being pulled from store shelves just a year after release with only a 1000 or so copies ever being sold, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a copy at a retro game store about a month ago, here's my experience with the title.

I'm still going off the idea that the house was Notch's old home and Steve was made in the Likeness of Herobrine.
To piggyback off of other's theories from the house segments, I think Notch's Father was an alcoholic. We see bottles in his room.
With this episode, we see stairs as a very significant aspect and a body under them. And the player dies of fall damage after being grabbed by the Phantom.
With all that considered, and taking my previous theory into account, here's my updated one.
I think Notch's dad, in a drunken rage, threw Herobrine down the stairs to the basement. Herobrine probably died from the fall. His dad hid him in the boiler room, a room under the stairs. Notch or someone else found him. Time goes by and Notch begins development on Minecraft as a way of coping with his Brother's death. He makes the Steve skin in commemoration to his deseased Brother.
I don't think anyone outside the family found out about the Death. Notch and his family were probably too afraid of the Dad to go to the police, if the ending text of "They need to know" is anything to go by.
So this version of minecraft was a way for Notch to mourn for Herobrine and plant subtle clues about his Father.
I imagine the game saw a very minor release in Sweden, before Notch had second thoughts and pulled them from shelves. A few copies were sold off to the USA for a quick buck and the rest is history.

I clicked on this video because I wanted to see Minecraft running on a PS1. I would have downloaded this in a heartbeat and burned it to a CD to run on my own PS1. I was lied to because the video title implicates that this is a REAL PSX homebrew port of Minecraft. If it wasn't a lie then the title should have something like (fan made) or (ARG) in the title

Look at when PS1 came out, then look at the first creation date for Minecraft. Then, compare the fact that Minecraft can’t run on the Wii, which is newer than the PS1.
You should’ve had enough common sense to realize that Minecraft came out after that console was created, and they had probably stopped making games for it WELL before Minecraft came out. Don’t come after this channel from a misunderstanding on your part. Your disappointment is on you.
