I wonder if Andrew knows what happened, and is blocking it out due to horrific trauma. But deep down, he knows.

We know Chris has been "Offline" for some months. In This video, the photos of brick buildings are all from the down view, and they all at least get further and further down.. and you probably can guess where I'm going with this. In the end, a photo of a well is shown. I believe Chris committed self termination by jumping off a brick building, with the last thing he saw was the brick well.
Or something else different is being worked on and I'm entirely incorrect.

11/06/2023 @TrinSt4rz: After thinking about it, the theory of Chris having drowned at the bottom of a well makes the most logical and or reasonable. Since there is shown to be a lot of wells within the series, it could be A. Chris really just liked making wells as that was probably what Chris was great at making, or B. He planned on drowning in a well, therefore he tired to signal to Andrew that he was going to do that.
Even in the episode previous to LetheProtocal, in the garden, there was a well during the end of the maze. It could be, if the black shadow figure with the face is Chris (most likely), he's trying to tell Andrew that he had drowned, trying to get Andrew to understand that he has passed, even though Chris knows that pre-lethe Andrew saw him in that brick building.
And seeing as the survival world has Chris spying over this (what I'll call 'Lethed') Andrew, with invisibility potion particles always near him.

the final image of the dark, dreadful well is the polar opposite, that once you fall into one, you're trapped and if there's no-one to help you, you're forever doomed. the balance between hope and despair is clear

Chris has been "Offline" and I believe that he jumped down a well and killed himself, but the well had no water, so instead of him trying to drown, he falls to his death, like when you would jump down a tower, much like how in the last video, Andrew goes down the well, but comes back on a tower. This (might) hint that what had attempted to be drowning himself ended up as the way of suicide by tower, again like what i said before. Just a small theory.
