I just don’t like what Cartoon Network did to it with that spin-off, and it’s a shame that it lasted that long. I might renew my subscription to netflix just to watch the original again.

Regardless of respawn mechanics ingame, if you die, thats it, thats the end.
You become part of the world in place of any random NPC but you have the abilities of the main character.
You have to stay in the game alive for real life 3 years to be released.
Things that would skip time ingame dont work the same way, like waiting in skyrim, instead of skipping however many hours you'd actually have to wait that time.
You are not effected by lag, since technically your mind is part of the video game.
