11/21/2023 @aanakk: If they get armor from a player drop, after you kill the zombie it drops this armor completely. Imagine accidentally dropping a netherite chestplate accidentally, zombie picks it up, and after you kill him he doesn't drop it. That would be frustrating, and that's why he just got lucky with zombie spawns cuz they don't drop full gold armor.

On console, they don't drop picked up items. You can tell it's console because he complained about his hand going to sleep on the controller just after 10:00.

The way his cursor moves when he's in his inventory/chests leads me to believe he's playing on an Xbox. He even says he's running the game on bedrock edition at the beginning of the 5th episode.
