11/07/2024 @zk2741: Theory: the reason smiley guy constantly lets andrew escape, and doesn't even harm him is because he CAN'T. He is a ghost, but he's powerless. Andrew has to choose to join him by killing himself for him (smiler) to gain influence. Only Andrew can make that choice, and only then can smiler win against him. But andrew, every time, refuses to join him, which is why we never see smile harm him. The reason he was able to kill chris is because chris is already suicidal. Andrew is not. Smile guy is representative of not only suicide/suicidal thoughts, but just the personal demons of anyone. Whether it be an idenitity crisis, guilt, trauma, hatred, emptiness, or whatever it is. Smiler represents those thoughts and feelings, and the fear that comes with them. But that's just it. That's all he is. Thoughts and fears. It may seem scary, whatever you're foing through, but they're just voices. Don't let them control you, don't let them decide your fate. You decide that. As scary as they are, your demons cannot harm you until you choose to allow them to. No matter how scary the smiling demon in your head is, it's just a thought, it's just scary. But that's all it is. We don't have to live in fear of our dark sides. Refusing to accept them is a problem in and of itself. Back on topic, the three characters are parallels. Smiler let his demons control him, chris did too, but is now trying to regain control, andrew is fighting to keep that control. Smiler turned into the very thing he hated, into the very thing he qaa scared of. He became the physical manifestation of his own demons, and now, he wants others to feel the same way. To unleash that dark side. The reason why bones are significant, and why andrew has to find them before smiler does because they make him stronger, is because I believe they are his (smiler's) bones. Digital versions of his physical decayed corpse that chris scattered around to weaken him. If he gains those bones, he will regain strength. Then he will be able to harm Andrew. He (Andrew) has to find them to prevent that from happening. The bones are like a phylactory of some sort. Destroying the bones is setting the restless soul of smiler free, and when he is defeated, chris can rest as well. And no one else will fall victim to him.

Yes, it seems counter intuitive but playing with these thoughts can make it less intimidating and more light-hearted :]

Throughout the series he has done an overall excellent performance when it comes to making this feel immersive and REAL (with uncommon moments of weakness here and there). This video not only had no shortcomings in his acting, but had probably his single best one during the ending sequence. I presume Andrew is fair young, though I do not know his exact age, but the fact that he did a performance of THIS quality is nothing short of remarkable.
This series, no matter how it ends, has been solidified as one of the greatest stories every told with Minecraft; standing strongly above the norm alongside my other favorites of bedrock.jar, Whitepine, and the original From the Fog series by The Librarian.
As an aside, my compliments on your music, Andrew. Your song at the end was truly beautiful.
